Taskswitch PowerToy allows you to see the program you are switching to in the Alt-Tab window does not function properly with tabbed chats:

As you can see there are four conversations show in the window, yet i only have three chats open. The extra window is shown like this [Image: untitled2.png] in the preview, but when you switch to it, it switches to the active chat.

On another note, Vista does this previewing in the alt-tab, so I figured it'll also produce this problem when Plus is used on there too.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600)
Windows Live Messenger 8.00.0812
Messenger Plus! Live 4.01.0.240

This *could* be counted as a bug, but it also might not be. There is more than one way to find all the currently open windows, and some applications do it differently than others. This does actually make sense, as the tabs are really just a part of another window (MsgPlusLive_TabbedChats or something =/) that controls the standard chat windows.

If you use another Alt+Tab replacement like TaskSwitchXP (which I highly recommend you use over the powertoy, it's better), this error does not occur, likely because it may use a different method to find open windows.

Took your advice, now using TaskSwitchXP.

Many thanks =]
