Ok, so im all up for a very small compact messenger main window, i remove:
the tabs, the ad banner, search bar, display users as status and only show online and hide menu.

BUT!! what i find myself constantly doing is resizing my main window in conjunction with how many users are online so the scrollbar doesnt appear making it look nice and neat
So i think it would be a great idea for a contacts list that makes itself bigger or smaller dependant of how many users are online. 10 users online and its big enough to show them all, then another user signs in and the window automatically increases its size.

Maybe with an exception to the users screen resolution as maximum

Love to hear all your opinions on this suggestion, critisism would be great.

Then I wonder if that would keep your contact list compact...
It's possible, that's for sure, but I guess it's quite hard to predict the size of the contact list where all contacts are shown. Think about the details view, any patches which affect the size of a contact entry in the list, etc.

I can be wrong, but I don't get it why you want to enlarge your contact list to keep it compact...

He want's to make the window smaller, when less people are online...
It would be possible, but you'd have to hardcode the normal contact size, and the detailed contact size...

It's not really the best solution
