I'm trying to gather feedback about part of the contact list layout in MSN Messenger. Near the top there is an "identity panel" where you can set your status. Your name (email) and display picture appear there also. Is there is a need to have your name and display image there or is it unnecessary?
I'm working on a layout for an IM client. Thanks for your thoughts!

make options to hide/show status and dp, names are used by almost everyone so you can leave it there
also maybe add pm in too?

i think is useful when u have multiple MSN or WLM open at the same time, in this way, u can easy diference one from other without having to open u contact list
