IRC colour codes.. by MrSwiskey on 10-11-2006 at 03:34 PM

Hi, i am using plus! live (of course, it pwns) and i was wondering how to get a background using IRC codes that changes colour half way through

code:
[a=3] blah blah di di blah [/a=4]

I want something that does the same effect as that, any help?

Thanks

PS>>> i know allready that ·$ is for the IRC codes..

Gradient backgrounds:

In a conversation window:
Ctrl+r, T, choose Gradient Background, pick colour 1, pick colour 2..type beween the formatting codes.

Outputs BBcode style tags...gradients are not available with irc style tags.

Yes, but that brings up the [a=5] [/a=7] codes, im looking for the IRC codes (from the old messenger plus!)
EDIT: Yes sunshine, that doesn't bring up irc codes, but then again neither do the other options, so it could still be possible..

EDIT2: Oh okay, thanks sunshine..

The others do bring up irc style codes if you use Ctrl+r (with style to use set to irc-style in preferences), just using the panel directly (or adding tags through the menu) won't.

Edit: you're welcome :)

I have made a script to be able to send a gradient background (an text as well) using IRC style but it applies to all messages you send too specified contacts.  I'm sure someone could change that part of my script and use a couple of regular expressions to actually make this possible if they thought about it.  Unfortunately I don't have the time to do this, or the knowledge about regular expressions sorry.  Btw, if you wanted my script it is called Gradient.  Hope this helps and I hope someone makes this script idea too :cheesy:
