[font=Arial][color=red]i have heard on one of the other threads that wlm 8.1 has been realesed in the beta stages?? is this true, and if so, how do you get to be able to download it? PS i am a 8.0 wlm user.

Sign up at MS Connect and choose to test WLM. But you wont be able to get to test 8.1, it's too late.

I tested 8.0 BETA months before it was released, but I searched for it and couldn't even find news about it. My mate sent me a link to download it and sent me an invitation :p

Could have included MSNM 7.5 in there :P

8.1 is very buggy. I wouldn't reccomend using it. I downgraded to 8.0.

How did you test a beta months before it was released? YOu can't test something that isn't released yet.

Completely useless for this beta stage as they won't get anyone else in. Even quite a few testers for 8.0 didn't get in for this one. It's a rather small beta test.

Lou, I was using a leaked BETA before it became widespread.

As for signing up on the MS Connect site, I was more interested in BETAs for programs such as Virtual PC 2007 etc

I prefer Windows Live Messenger 8.0 because of the support it has and because that it has hardly any bugs. Plus, I'm not actually a Windows Live Messenger beta tester, so I can't get Windows Live Messenger 8.1, which is unfortunate considering the fact that I'm a Messenger Plus! Live beta tester.

WLM 8.1 fixes this error/bug/annoyance http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=471581 which is REALLY nice. :)
