Why is the icon next to "NEW THREAD" bigger than that next to "POST REPLY"? It's kind of dodgy.

seems to me those icons don't belongn together...
(or the one that made them was lazy...)

Probably because the "New Thread" icon is also used on the topics page... It was probably meant to be used alone and the "Post Reply" icon was made to match it afterwards

it doesnt really matter because i've never noticed that before, and wouldnt for another couple of years if it wasnt for you...
and admins will be too lazy to make a new one and replace it

Yay! Now that thing nobody noticed will go away! 
Nice pic though Cookie, it would have bugged me if it remianed unchanged now that somebody pointed it out

Hmm, maybe the logic behind it at some point was that people were replying in old thread and/or replying with offtopic things and because of the "New Thread" was made sligthly bigger to draw attention to that and try avoid having to make more splits.
