I got 1 A, 8 Bs and 1 C at GCSE, I got 2 As, 1 B and 1 C at AS Level (Computing, Business Studies, Chemistry and Physics repectively).
Hopefully, the subject of this thread isn't an indication of your command of the English language.

I chose:
Media Studies
Resistant Materials
History
Art
And you have to do: Maths, English, Science, IT, PE (half), Citizenship (half). Predicted all Cs. I need 4/5 A*-C passes and a C in IT to get into the college level I want to do.
PS: We have to do IT because our school is a 'Technology College' .

I chose;
History, Geography, Spanish and Graphics.
We have to do Maths, Science, English (duh), and R.E.
My predicted grades (from school data) are:
English, English Lit: A (I reckon I can easily get an A* though.)
Maths: A* (I haven't a clue why, I suck at maths...)
Science: A
R.E: A
Spanish: B
Graphics: A/B
Geography: A
History: A
I think that I could get most of those up to A*'s if I work hard enough, but I'd be good with A's and B's.
I want to be a Spanish/English translator, or something with Spanish, English, Geography or History.

Would you really want a doctorate in English? It means your job would most probably be a teacher lecturing at universities about English.
I think your aiming really high for music, it is not an easy subject. Performing arts are probably the hardest to get good grades in
As for me, I have done two GCSE's already, Religion ( A ) and Statistics ( D ). I do think you are aiming a little high at the moment, you may be disappointed when do you get your results .

Well.. I done my Standard Grades (= GCSEs north of the border) last summer, and my Highers (=AS Level, I think ) this summer. This year I'm taking Advanced Higher (A-Level I *think*) Maths & Physics, as well as Higher Human Biology.
[Results:
Standard Grade:
Maths - 1 (1 & 2 are credit (the highest grade), 3 & 4 general and 5 & 6 foundation)
English - B (Intermediate 2 - we done a fancy exam for it )
French - 1
Computing - 1
Physics - 1
Chemistry - 1
Craft & Design - 2
Geography - 2
Highers:
Maths - A
English - C (I'm not good at this )
Chemistry - A
Physics - A
Computing - A]
Btw, I believe that Standard Grades are slightly easier than GCSEs because we do them over two years, but they're bigger courses as well...
They're really really easy in hindsight after doing highers. (And Higher is easy in hindsight after starting Advanced Highers... )
