[Request] contact has gone offline toast message by Philmac101 on 10-30-2006 at 02:24 AM

Im looking for a script that notifies you whenever a contact goes offline.

thanks :D

Why not just create a custom notification? You don't need a script to do that.

Whta's a custom notification?

RE: [Request] contact has gone offline toast message by bigbob85 on 11-03-2006 at 08:30 AM

It's in the prefrences.

Plus! > Preferences > Customize! > Events Notification

Change the combo box to 'Notify All Contacts', Next.
Select 'User has signed out'.
Click the check box next to the display popup thing. Next
This notification will never expire. Done

All done :D

there's no way i can use nicks for that is there?

RE: [Request] contact has gone offline toast message by bigbob85 on 11-04-2006 at 12:58 AM

Ahh.. Ill go look.

*looks*

Nup, you'd need a script for that.
Ill go see if I can make one, then get back to ya.

EDIT
Here you go.
This displays there name, but its a very simple script, and isn't configurable (doesn't have them two options the event notifications does).
It also doesn't play sound. If you have a good sound for it, let me know, and I'll add it in there, aswell as them other options, and release it again.

Script : User Signed Out - v0.1

i don't need any sound or anything i just want to see nicks in the tost i installed the script and it didn't work they still say the screen name.

Isn't it what you wanted? Says the screen name.

Do as Matty suggested... it is already possible to do this in Plus!Live itself. There is really no need for a script for this.

The custom notifications will show the contact's screenname:

RE: [Request] contact has gone offline toast message by Jarrod on 11-05-2006 at 12:25 PM

sorry i said nick name not screen name
(like when you right click and go add nickname)

RE: [Request] contact has gone offline toast message by bigbob85 on 11-05-2006 at 01:21 PM

I made a script.. for nothing... :P
How do you make it say there contact name though? The generic message for me is there email address.

EDIT :
Odd, it shows there nick name now..., instead of email...

Ill see if I can mod my script to show that.

EDIT 2 :
I cant find out how to trace someones custom nick name, anyone got any ideas?

RE: [Request] contact has gone offline toast message by CookieRevised on 11-05-2006 at 05:55 PM

bigbob85,

Custom names aren't supported anymore in Plus!Live. If you're talking about the nickname which you can set in Windows Live Messenger itself, then there is currently no way to grab/use/edit these in a proper way.

I had a feeling thats what the case was.

if you are using Windows Live Messenger then you can't have custom names as that is no more included in Plus!.

You probably mean "nicknames" in Windows Live Messenger. Be carefull in what you call stuff in cases like this, otherwise it is highly confussing for people who don't know the full details.

"Screen names" are the names people set themselfs.
"Nicknames" are the names you can set for people yourself in Windows Live Messenger; they overwrite screen names.
"Custom names" are the alternative names you could set for people in Plus!3.

;)

offline contacts by Dusk Distress on 04-08-2007 at 10:57 PM

Well I would like to know this but in other way, I'm looking for a script that notifies who's offline but he/she is online... I mean he/she set only the status "offline", but he/she is online

got me? *-)

Thanks :)

Not possible. Appear offline is there for a reason...if ppl want you to see them (know they are on) they'll go to online.
