Microsoft Word help - Printable Version

I have stupid dots between every word (i.e. it comes up when I hit the space bar) and when I make a new paragraph a weird bold sign comes up with it too.
Any way I can get rid of these because although it doesn't print with them, they're rather annoying!

Hit "CTRL + *" then try it

There should be a little icon like this in one of the bars at the top of the screen : [Image: charrrsye5.png]

click it :)

It worked by pressing the weird sign button I had lost in my toolbar some where.
