Message Lengths no longer extended by timgaunt on 11-09-2006 at 10:00 PM
Hi,
I've been meaning to ask for a while now but I think I'm missing one of the features from the old version and I was wondering whether it's still possible -removing the message length limit per message, can that still be done? I used to find that really useful when pasting code.
Any ideas?

Well, it should be in Preferences > Conversations tab > Main > Increase the maximum size of messages you can send to 1100 characters.

Yes... you can Expand the limit of characters by going on: Plus! > Preferences > Conversations > And on the "Main", check the "Increase the maximum size...."
(As showed on the attach)...
I think A-Patch can allow more...

stuffplug increased it to 5000...

Increasing it over about 1200 characters can cause your messages not to go through (at least when sent the normal way without any modification in the protocol stream).

Thanks, that's interesting, what was the old limit on the messages as I'm sure I was able to send longer sets of code.

StuffPlug 2 is not compatible with WLM8. When released StuffPlug 3 will be compatible.

Messenger Plus! can boost this up to 1100 characters (which is still safe to use).
StuffPlug can boost this up to 5000 characters (by manipulating the protocol).
No patches like A-patch or MessPatch, no other addons like MessengerDiscovery are able to boost the character limit.
