How to remove 2nd operating system and so delete dualboot by jukaimessenger on 11-13-2006 at 03:57 AM

thanks for your replies I no longer have the problem posted before. but my question is I have winxp home and win 2000pro on my pc, and I want to get rid of the 2000pro from my pc. how can I do that? Looked it up a bit but didn't find useful results. here is a link which I visited:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888023

one of the parts I didnt understand was this:

3.    In Windows Explorer, find the Windows folder that you want to remove.

Important Make sure that this folder is not the folder that you identified as your "working" Windows folder in step 2.
4.    Right-click the Windows folder that you want to remove, and then click Delete.
5.    Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the folder.

can someone explain to me which folder it is referring to?

You are very seriously *beeped*...

What you downloaded and executed is a serious malware/trojan infection which on its turn downloaded several password stealers, backdoor programs, loggers, etc... (which on their turn download other stealers).... and in the process stealing passwords and other vital info from you.

I hope for your sake that the creators of those malware aren't monitoring the stuff anymore which these trojans are sending to them.

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!! what I just want to do is to preserve all files on d drive (the 2nd drive) and install new os.
Disconnect from the net immediatly!!!!! and format your whole PC....

When you're done installing Windows again, make absolutely sure you first visit http://www.windowsupdate.com/ and patch Windows with all the latest patches, fixes and security fixes.

After that change all your passwords from everything you have a password for. Double check all your settings on online services (eg: mail services which have the ability to forward emails etc; it is possible that some hacker can still read your mails because he has set it to forward mails to his account. Or that they changed the 'secret questions' so they can still gain access; etc; etc. Thus check every little setting in every online service you use (mail, banking service, forums, blogs, etc)).

Use legal stuff and stay away from illegal things as far as possible....

Sorry to soughta spam, but next time you decide to download a crack, keygen or warez, get them from a trusted site. :)

(NOT ALOUD TO SAY ANY)

Also, I'm pretty sure if you reinstall windows that you will keep your data on the D: Drive. Not too sure though.
