I really don't know if I am doing this correctly.  I am trying to reach somone in technical support for the Windows Live Messenger area. 

Recently I had a friend, who has a yahoo account, added to my contact list on my Windows Live Messenger.

My account is a hotmail account.

He always appears offline even when he is not.

If I try to open up a converstation box with him.  The box opens but at the top it tells me that I cannot have a converstation with him until I add him to my allow list.  I click on that and nothing happens.

Also, he sees me on his list and can tell if I am online or not.  He also can send me messages in which I cannot return. 

Never when he sends me messages am I asked if I approve of his sending me messages etc...

I have tried to delete him as a contact and then add him back in and yet the same thing everytime.

I have no idea how to fix this and would appreciate a very detailed step by step instruction on how to correct this problem.

I look forward to your quick respnce in this matter.
