RE: A question of plausibility RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Felu on 11-30-2006 at 12:59 PM Nice. How about making Hot Keys for each status and a configuration option for the same? RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Sypher on 11-30-2006 at 02:57 PM
Nicely done but i have a suggestion: RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by alexp2_ad on 11-30-2006 at 03:06 PM Quite cool, you should add the icons to the buttons. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 05:05 PM
quote: Ctrl+1 - Online Ctrl+2- Offline Ctrl+3 - Busy Ctrl+4 - Away Ctrl+5 - Be Right Back Ctrl+6 - On The Phone Ctrl+7 - Out To Lunch Ctrl+8 - Signout A toast will be shown stating your new status. quote: Now added. quote: Icons added (Don't seem to align properly though due to what I think is the length of the text in the button) The window dimensions have change a little to accomodate for the new slightly wider buttons. Note: Without images this file is only 5Kb 16 Download So Far RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Thor on 11-30-2006 at 05:09 PM
Suggestion, add a tooltip that appears when you hover over a status telling what hotkey it has. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Knucks on 11-30-2006 at 05:12 PM
Wow this script works perfect and ideal for me as I am lazy. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Jimbo on 11-30-2006 at 05:19 PM New icons look great. The alt+s isn't working for me now lol RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by RaceProUK on 11-30-2006 at 05:21 PM
quote:w00t quote:This is a must-have: other programs may respond to the Ctrl+<number> you've used. It's very annoying having two programs using the same shortcut. For a while on my PC, every time I used VC++ 2005's Intellisense Ctrl+Alt+Space, MSN/WLM would go into Boss Protection. So I changed the Boss Protection shortcut. RE: RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by alexp2_ad on 11-30-2006 at 05:39 PM
quote:Damn, that's really annoying. You gotta add options for this stuff. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.8) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 06:52 PM

quote:Excellent spunky. I think this should win one of the scipt competitions. I'd submit it if i were you RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by elektra on 11-30-2006 at 07:09 PM
quote: He could do that, or intergrate, mouseyMoo etc into psm+ and make it one big script Im gonna try it now, it will be my 10th spunky script RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 07:14 PM
quote: I'm trying not to think to much about the competition as I feel people arerushing scripts out to be entered and they aren't always useful or even 100% and I don't wanna fall into that trap. They have been submitted to the scripts database (and obviously I must now update them). These scripts would never been combined with PSM+ as PSM+ is my project soley for information in the PSM. There are probably still new features to come for this StatusKey though RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Sypher on 11-30-2006 at 09:27 PM Okay nice update, but when i removed all the shortcuts my WLM crashed and kept crashing... Needs some error checking RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 09:29 PM
Yeah, I should have put that in before really shouldn't I? I'm on it now RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by deAd on 11-30-2006 at 10:07 PM
You should make a listbox with icons instead of buttons, like windows Alt+Tab window...The current status should be selected when you open it, and pressing the hotkey again should scroll through (if the hotkey is Win+S, pressing S should scroll forward and Shift+S backward)...when all the keys are released then close the window and set the status.. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 10:15 PM It's doable... that means I'm likely to try. I'd leave both methods in the script though, not replace what I've already got or anything RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Nagamasa on 11-30-2006 at 10:41 PM
quote: Is it possible to change the keys as only 1 window for one account pops up when I press it. So, I can have Tab+S for account 1, Caps Lock +S for account 2, etc. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 11:13 PM
The last time I checked, the hotkeys did not work with polygamy, or do you mean one msn running but used by different users? The hotkeys are saved by user ID meaning you can have as many as you like. quote: Done and (not blowing my own trumpet ) it works pretty well. The only problem I have right now is getting an image to change. If I can't get one to change then I will have to just use a logo and just make the text change RE: RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by alexp2_ad on 11-30-2006 at 11:24 PM
quote:Uh, no, I meant so you can turn them off completely. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by roflmao456 on 11-30-2006 at 11:26 PM
lol yay now i can toast-spam my contacts (lol) RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Kenji on 11-30-2006 at 11:29 PM
quote:you noob. I was thinking of adding you but meh... not now.. quote:Yeah, its annoying plus, some people have tons of hot keys and stuff RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by roflmao456 on 11-30-2006 at 11:35 PM
quote: lmfao lol i was jk -- toast-spam is getting boring now -- i forgot there was some sort of protection on wlm LOL RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by Spunky on 11-30-2006 at 11:43 PM
Well, I can make it so that there is an option to disable hotkeys if you wish. RE: RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by alexp2_ad on 11-30-2006 at 11:53 PM
quote:Make it changeable or don't use the default messenger lock shortcut. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.8) by Spunky on 12-01-2006 at 12:00 AM Updated script and previous post (Now uses WINKEY+SPACE) RE: RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.8) by CookieRevised on 12-01-2006 at 03:11 AM
quote: quote:Why not make it so the user needs to press the hotkey he whishes for each status, just like Plus! does in several preferences? It would be much more versatile (and better looking; and wouldn't require that much controls to check/control).... PS: extra exercise (or plain copy/paste if you search for it in one of my scripts ): make the text for the statusses just the same as the Messenger language currently in use (aka get them from the language resource; but take in account that the filename differs from version to version). PS: or you could make it into an very short script and actuall just get the status submenu from messenger and display that as a kind of popup menu (icons and shortcut text inclusive). No need for an extra Plus! window, etc (except for the config of course) ------------------ I don't want to point the finger at everybody, and I understand the enthusiasm, but please read: IMPORTANT POINT 1 (FOR EVERYBODY) PS: Instead of editing and updating all your posts with those new download links each time you have a new version, why don't you instead attach the script to the first post in this thread? No need for editing and updating links in that way. It is already confussing to people what the latest version is with all those redundant attachments and fogotten-to-update links in your posts. Goes in general. Whenever you make a thread to release a new script, always, and only attach it to your first post together with the latest description. In that way the only thing you need to do when you have an update is refer to the first post in the thread. No confussion and several versions of a script in a thread anymore in that way... IMPORTANT POINT 2 (FOR EVERYBODY) Also, I understand the urge to create a new thread for this script. But please, if you already have posted, attached and discussed this in another thread (A question of plausibility), continue in that thread and do not create a new one... It is highly annoying to keep track of such chaos for even people who are used to searching/comparing and tracking things, let alone for people who are new to forums... This goes almost right along the rule "don't make duplicate threads/posts". Currently, I see 2 threads, with the same suggestions and questions (which is of course what you get when you make another new thread for this) and 4 versions of this script... If someone requests something and you make it into a script, post it in that same thread, or at least, if you really really want to create a new thread. FIRST make that new thread and ONLY THEN reply to that other thread with a line like "I have made this for you, see thread blahblah" and ask for a closure (use the report button) of that request-thread... ------------------ RE: RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 1.5) by deAd on 12-01-2006 at 03:23 AM
quote:It should use the hotkey that is currently assigned. For example, lets say I have the hotkey Alt+S assigned to open the window: Presses Alt+S -> window opens Presses S again -> listbox scrolls to the next status (down) Presses S again -> listbox scrolls to the next status (down) Presses Shift+S -> listbox scrolls to the next status (up) Releases all keys (but most importantly Alt and S) -> window closes and status is applied EDIT: Does this script use the RegisterHotKey function or the hotkey messages? RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by Spunky on 12-05-2006 at 05:16 PM
It uses RegisterHotKey and UnregisterHotKey. Theres is a minor update available that fixes a tiny error with "alternative exiting of the status windows". Also added some little graphical magic Goto this threads first post for the file EDIT: 600th Post Script Updated... See first post for new features RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by ins4ne on 12-05-2006 at 06:07 PM That was a good one this time . Long life to lazyness RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by deAd on 12-05-2006 at 10:54 PM
Is it possible to change from scrolling through icons to just a listbox with small icons beside it? More like the windows Alt+Tab (where you can see what's before and after)...also there's quite a delay when you release the key before the window closes...and lastly but not least, it should really only apply the status when you release ALL the keys (not when you click out or just let go of one key).. RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by Spunky on 12-05-2006 at 10:59 PM
It was going to be implemented as the ALT-TAB feature, but I liked how it looked with just one icon. I will make it so you can see the next\previous status (they way I've coded it, it shouldn't be too hard anyway). RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by deAd on 12-06-2006 at 02:30 AM It's not impossible at all, just use RegisterWindowNotification on WM_KEYUP and you can use WM_KEYDOWN too for other things RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by AmbulanceX on 12-06-2006 at 02:34 AM great script man, well done ill be using this one. do you think you can get the personalised status pop-up to work? RE: [Release] StatusKey (Version 2.0) by Spunky on 12-08-2006 at 06:29 PM
