As we are under two weeks away from the delightful time us catholics call the birth of our saviour, shall we be seeing the messenger plus live logo (the one up there ^^^) being decorated with a nice christmas theme


What would be cool would to hold a competition for the next week. Forum members get to submit a edited version of the logo to be used over the holiday period. One submission per user. Staff narrow down contenders, forum members pick which is the best one.

Thoughts?

I was actually thinking the site needs a christmas logo earlier today when i was doing some christmas stuff .

Gets always better . Make it a bit bigger to show the shadow thingy better .

that one's nice but you should try to make it so it blends with the background (white ), cause if you put that up there it will look ugly in my opinion

Keep in mind the original logo is 309px × 65px.... don't go bigger than that.

Use CSS!

It seems like you're using a div called "header". So, you add a background attribute to it with the blue background and make sure that when you put the header image over it, it blends nicely.
Maybe I can try it with my Stylish plugin for Firefox...

Don't you know that the stylesheet is used on pages that don't include the full MyBB header? The background image shouldn't be in body { }...

Edit: It does look nice though, so thanks for doing the work.

I fixed it all up.

Also WDZ, I added the CSS properly through the template unlike wj did, because when I went to edit it I couldn't figure out what he had done.

Oh yeah, and to remove it all just remove the block of CSS at the bottom which overrides the other declarations.

yeah, would be cool if someone would update the homepage and other pages that exist to do with messenger plus live, or the forum looks very out of place, and the christmas header looks a helluva lot better than the normal one

ps: the logo isn't align properly with the background, making the top looks weird.. but it's fine with me though take a look... wrong alignment?

It looks great. to all involved. Just one thing, http://shoutbox.menthix.net/images/mpl/msgpluslive-logo-xmas-tile.png, looks kinda simple and dodgy. May be something of similar size but dynamic (if its < 5 kb) else just make it slightly different cause the equidistant stars look dodgy

Well, even if that image was randomized, your browser would still only load it once, and then just tile it... :/

Like i told you on WLM, that's a great one. But the snowman doesn't have a hat and you should make the snow like flowing into the forums layout. Like gradient from 'snow-white' into 'forum-white'.
