I think the xmas modifications should definitely be removed within the next week or two. I'd prefer to have Chris or wj handle it, because they made the changes and they might know something I don't...

Anyway, I removed the xmas modifications from the CSS... a month after Christmas...
If you still see the xmas stuff, it's because your browser cached the CSS file.
