MSN Virus :( by Clayton on 01-27-2007 at 01:58 PM

Hi all, got a virus last night and the scanner isnt picking it up so i dont know if its a new one or not,  someone sent me a link saying i hope this isnt you http://yadadada/members.php?msn&e=myemail@hotmail.com and it was like 1am and i was tired and stupidly i clicked it, and now it sends it to everyone on my contact list, i cant open msconfig, and i dont know any of the other symptoms yet, but i was just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this and get rid of it?

Thanks in advance.

I have actually been sent this link, and it seems to be pretty new to me. If you can boot into safemode and run some kind of scan from there, or try to remove the virus manually.

Booting into Safe Mode

That's the link to download hijackthis.. see if it lets you do that.

If not, try this one: http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10379544.html

And try to scan it with trend micro. Or do you've system restore enabled? That might help.

Thanks
