On Windows Vista (full release) and using the tabbed chats the msn chat window doesnt appear when using the 3D Stacked Windows option RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by vikke on 01-27-2007 at 09:56 PM Tip: Could be GDI+ problem (I'm quite sure). I've seen other applications as the same as well.. RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by Eljay on 01-27-2007 at 10:03 PM It's not a GDI+ problem at all, it's because Plus! has it's own window that it uses for the tabbed chat feature (MessengerPlusLive_TabbedChats). This window doesn't have a DWM thumbnail so it doesn't appear in 3D Flip or on taskbar thumbnails. Not sure why, I'm sure someone else can explain better RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by Red Spider on 01-28-2007 at 12:12 AM

quote:Yes, that's probably right. But still, DWM thumbnails has problems with some programs which use a lot GDI+. RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by John Anderton on 01-28-2007 at 09:13 AM
quote:I didn't know why that happened but infact that makes perfect sense to me I always thought that those windows were dybamically created from scratch (omg resource whore) but thats not totally true I realised that when i saw my first app not having a DWM thumbunail. Do .NET applications have it by default because in a .NET 2.0 application I was making, I could see the thumbunail by default (no code was required) RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by Eljay on 01-28-2007 at 09:24 AM
quote: All windows have a DWM thumbnail window by default, it's just that the MessengerPlusLive_TabbedChats window is never actually visible. All it does is provide the taskbar button and menu. It should be possible to "link" the current chat with the tabbed chat taskbar item so Vista displays a live thumbnail using the DWM API (I have experimented in a script but couldn't get it working ). Just wanted to point out two things. RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by Kenji on 01-30-2007 at 10:36 AM
quote:Disable tabbed chats. quote:Vista has only just been released, wait a few days. And if there ins t any updates youll just have to use an alternative. quote:As mentiond before, Patchou needs to get his hands on a copy of Vista, untill then, we will just have to wait. This also happens with me on XP but with a Toshiba application to do with my touchpad where it is similar to alt+tab as you can select the window you want. I just didn't think to report this as a bug as I doubted it would be common and felt there were more important issues pending. quote: Patchou has had his hands on Vista for ages and is/would be aware of these incompatibilities with Vista. Just disable the buggy features for now i'm assuming they'll be fixed when he releases the special version of Plus! with the winning scripts. RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by bugmenot on 02-04-2007 at 10:46 PM A similar bug applies for WindowBlinds. When one tries to switch tabs, the window container is redrawn, and due to incompatibilities with certain WindowBlinds functions, the window frame becomes 1 pixel smaller both widthwise and lengthwise. It would be better if it worked without me having to resize it constantly. RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by Voldemort on 02-04-2007 at 10:51 PM That is a problem with WB, not Msg Plus!, sorry... RE: Windows Vista :: 3DStacked Windows Bug by Speedboxer on 02-10-2007 at 07:31 PM Another bug, similar to this one, is that in Alt-Tab, in Vista, (when Tabbed Chats are enabled) the window will show up, but when you highlight it, and release Alt-Tab, it doesn't actually open the chat window. Also, live preview doesn't show up (I think someone mentioned that above. Also, when Tabbed Chats are enabled, when the chat window is minimized, and you go to open it, you have to click it twice because the first click will just makes the taskbar "icon" depressed (as if it were open, which it doesn't) and the second click will actually open the window.
