On Windows Vista (full release) and using the tabbed chats the msn chat window doesnt appear when using the 3D Stacked Windows option

Tip: Could be GDI+ problem (I'm quite sure). I've seen other applications as the same as well..

It's not a GDI+ problem at all, it's because Plus! has it's own window that it uses for the tabbed chat feature  (MessengerPlusLive_TabbedChats). This window doesn't have a DWM thumbnail so it doesn't appear in 3D Flip or on taskbar thumbnails. Not sure why, I'm sure someone else can explain better

Tabbed chats is buggy on Vista, If ii was you, id turn off tabbed chats until it is fixed.

I didn't know why that happened but infact that makes perfect sense to me
I always thought that those windows were dybamically created from scratch (omg resource whore) but thats not totally true I realised that when i saw my first app not having a DWM thumbunail.

Do .NET applications have it by default because in a .NET 2.0 application I was making, I could see the thumbunail by default (no code was required)

Just wanted to point out two things.

This bug has been around since the first release build of Messenger Plus! Live (400) and Beta 2 of Vista. I have the final now and it is still there (as it would by your explanation).

The annoying thing is that the taskbar doesn't flash anymore. I could care less about the missing window, however, I need the taskbar to flash, quite simply because I mute my PC a lot of times.

Hopefully Patchou will release a new fixed build soon.

This also happens with me on XP but with a Toshiba application to do with my touchpad where it is similar to alt+tab as you can select the window you want.  I just didn't think to report this as a bug as I doubted it would be common and felt there were more important issues pending. 

More specifically about the features of the program, it lists all the windows (including each chat individually and the tabs window as a seperate one) and only shows the preview for the currently open chat when hovered over.  With any other program it shows a preview as well, though Enhancer does hide the contact list so it isn't visible there either.  I'll muck around with making windows hidden or shown over the next couple of days to see what it does with them as well and I will write some more about it.

I wish I could give more in-depth information on the program but all I have is the exe for it, if you want some more info about it then i'll be happy to oblige.

Btw, the exe is called padexe.exe and is for the touchpad of a Toshiba Satellite M60-700 (Australian model number, don't know if it is the same elsewhere) and it is probably the samefor other models too, but that is the one i have (and it is the most current).

A similar bug applies for WindowBlinds. When one tries to switch tabs, the window container is redrawn, and due to incompatibilities with certain WindowBlinds functions, the window frame becomes 1 pixel smaller both widthwise and lengthwise. That is a problem with WB, not Msg Plus!, sorry...

Another bug, similar to this one, is that in Alt-Tab, in Vista, (when Tabbed Chats are enabled) the window will show up, but when you highlight it, and release Alt-Tab, it doesn't actually open the chat window. Also, live preview doesn't show up (I think someone mentioned that above. Also, when Tabbed Chats are enabled, when the chat window is minimized, and you go to open it, you have to click it twice because the first click will just makes the taskbar "icon" depressed (as if it were open, which it doesn't) and the second click will actually open the window.

i also have the same problem using Vista Ultimate with the latest Msg Plus with both WLM 8.1 and 8.5
i love tabbed conversations but if it affect the flip 3d i prefer that
