what kind of connector is that? (Ultra ATA 100)
1) possible to connect to laptop?
2) possible to make it act as a network storage device (w/out connecting to a pc)? (is that possible with anything?)
3) is it worth it?

2) No. It needs a PC with an USB2 port to connect to.
3) The price is not bad for an external one. However, if its worth it or not probably depends on if you actually need it
