Right, well since my PC died, i need to get a new one.

Im stuck on chosing what to get, a Pentium D, or a Core 2 Duo. I have roughly £150 to spend on the Processor, but i dont know what to choose.

I can go for the following:

My brother has a Pentium D and my C2D E6600 owns it by far.

intel core 2 quad :zippy:

actually amd is better but they wont start shipping quad cores till mid this year ;<

it out of those one, first we need to know what you do on ur pc

if you do a lot of multitasking, multi core cpus are for you [Image: msn_happy.gif]

(also if apps you use are multi threaded)

edit: is the p4 dual core? it says (2 x 3.00GHz Core Speed) but doesnt say dual core like the other one =/ if not, wat does it mean?

the Pentium is Dual core aswell.. Im just stuck with what one to choose..

I was gonna get a E6700, but that was before my PC died, and now im PC-less so i need to replace it asap.

My Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 eats Pentium D's for breakfast.

Why don't you save up for the new AMD X2 6000+ that's just came out? It'll kick both of those CPUs asses.

Considering that my CPU (C2D E6600) can beat the FX-62 in benchmarks and how huge the price difference is, it's one hell of a deal.
