atm if i sed someone an email it says from

john smith - RE: blah blah

i tried changing it to

jane smith  - RE: blah blah

i goto account settings, change john to jane, but in my WLM inbox, it still says John in the top right corner.

so if its not in account settings, how do i change the name that is shown when i send an email to somebody?

WLM as in Windows Live Mail, or are you using another email service?

In general the name that is included when sending emails can be changed in your E-Mail settings... If you use a software client like Outlook, then you change it in the Outlook account settings. If you use webbased mail then you change it in the settings of your webmail. If you use both, then you change it in both, because changing it in one will not automatically change it for the other too. The settings you're looking for is labeled "Full Name" or "Name" most of the time.

yeah, just Windows Live Mail.

I have goto options -> more options -> view and edit your personal information -> settings -> Registered info

It changes the name on the registered info, but not for the emails

Thats whats giving me trouble.
