Desktop MSN nicks by whiterosezg on 02-06-2007 at 11:17 AM

hi, I wonder is there any kind of script file or goodie which does the same like icq desktop nicks, it flickers when new message appear. MSN does not flicker, only with changing weak transparency denotes that there is  a new message. ...

What do you exactly mean by flicker? I;ve never used ICQ but if you mean flashing of taskbar, messenger does that.

No, I didnt mean on taskbar flashing. In icq pro you can draw icq nicks in small cubes. That cube is consisted of name of the icq user. Everytime you got new message, in that cube area well known icq new message icon appear and flashing. Now here in MSN I have that desktop cube with name of the user but when new message appear, cube only slightly flashing with different transparency, what is not visible. Small new message icon in cube would do just fine

You don't need any script for that since it is already basic behaviour of Plus!.

Turn on the option:
Plus! > Preferences > Messenger > Contacts on Desktop > Flash contact window on new message

You can also select the color of the flashing:
    http://www.msgpluslive.net/help/registry/ > FloatChatFlashColor

quote:
FloatChatFlashColor
Default: REG_DWORD
value: -1
Description: Color used to flash the background of floating contact windows. By default, the background color of the window is used to compute a darker or lighter color. This is a COLORREF value.
A COLORREF value is the hexadecimal representation of an RGB in the form RRGGBB, where RR is the hexadecimal value for the red component, GG for the green and BB for blue.
eg: white is: FFFFFF
      black is: 000000
      gray is: C0C0C0
      red is: FF0000
      blue is: 0000FF
      yellow is: FFFF00
      etc

Or use Choli's Messenger Plus! Live Tweaker if you're not familiar with the registry.
