Its a known problem that occurs around 3.45/4.00 o'clock (there was a thread about it before). I think I remember someone saying that Chris Boulton is going to have a look at it when he gets the time.

Yeah, and I have had a look several times though nothing sticks out.
We discussed it in the staff forums and established it's something with the log rotation on the server - so I need to rebuild Apache.
