YouTube JavaScript Problem by LoochTheMan on 03-14-2007 at 07:46 PM

I keep getting this error message:

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player.

My Flash player is updated and my Java is checked in the IE7 settings. Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

Java and JavaScript is a completely different thing.
Make sure you have Javascript enabled too. Having Java enabled shouldn't really matter....

I followed the instructions with no success. How would I check if my JavaScript is enabled as opposed to my Java?

Well, one simple thing that you could try is to click the quick delete button ([Image: delete.gif]) in one of your posts.
If Javascript is enabled, then you should get a message asking you if you really want to delete that post.
If Javascript is not enabled, then nothing will happen.

Also, did you try another browser (Firefox for example) and see if this still happens?

My suggestion is to get Firefox!

Before I format my C:\, virus ate my IE and java-scripting won't work anymore.

i've had this problem before, you need to reset IE

Tools >> Internet Options >> Advanced >> Reset...

that will reset IE, then when to go back to youtube, you will probualy need to download java again, but this time it should work

I'm becoming quiet annoyed. I have followed every suggestion provided with still no solution. I even uninstalled my browser and reinstalled it. If theres anything else someone might want to suggest I would greatly appreciate it.
