I've been receiving Private Messages from unactivated users recently, fairly annoying, would it be possible to just disallow unactivated users from sending Private Messages?

Probably no, because sometimes, when users have problems activating their account, they will probably just go and PM an administrator.
I have also received PMs from unactivated accounts asking stupid questions like "asl?". It is annoying, but, just ignore them.

Just make it so Unregistered users can only PM mods/admins...

it wouldnt be too difficult but it'd mean manual coding...
Also: yeah i get them too, "can you be my freind" - my god some people are desperate

If they're annoying, you should report them to an admin so they can be banned. 
And don't forget about the Ignore List.

Maybe its just you guys being famous on the forums but nobody pm's me lol. I am sure the ignore list would help those people who keep getting these annoying pms. A few weeks or maybe months down the line these messages will stop anyway. You just have to have the patience thats all.

Don't take this the wrong way..
But IMHO, it is all these threads about how to make this forum perfect that have been annoying me more than anything else.

OK, unactivated members can no longer PM anyone other than Admins and Mods.
Only took me a week to get around to coding it...
