i have a problem at installing a new version of itunes. i dont know how to solve it. PLEASE HELP ME !!

i have the old version of itunes and i bouugt a neew ipod so i have to install a new version of it. i take it from apple.com and at the end it says i cant finish downloading it because Quicktime media player cant not be install.. what should i do?
