Hello, Glad you are here!

Creative Genus has two objectives. The first is to present easy access to Alexander MacDonald, his work and ideology. The second, born of the first, is to provide a venue for artists to showcase themselves as well as offer a conduit with which people may connect with artists.

Artists are renowned for being ineffective and/or disinclined towards marketing and self-promotion. It is for this reason that Creative Genus has been devised. The initiative and mandate of Creative Genus is to connect people who want art, or who want to support the arts with those dedicated to creating art. This service is free to the artists and is intended to broaden the base of support for individual artists.

If you are an artist, or know of an artist who does not have their own website, and you think they could benefit from being included on this site, please click on the contact tab.

If you are interested in purchasing art or offering an artist feedback or support, please do not be shy. Art is an expression of a vision that is intended to be shared. By offering feedback you may be helping an artist in deep and unexpected ways.

Please Enjoy!

should be in the left imo....
50 bucks?

RE: how much moneys? by Rolando on 04-08-2007 at 05:38 PM

50 bucks like Voldie said sounds good.

RE: how much moneys? by Ptoye on 04-08-2007 at 05:39 PM

why don't you charge $7 per hour....

or about 70-120$

its a good website, like your work!

RE: how much moneys? by Menthix on 04-08-2007 at 05:49 PM

Your valid code fails btw :p

RE: how much moneys? by Baggins on 04-08-2007 at 06:11 PM

Ask them how much they think it's worth. (They'll probably say something pretty high:P)

If not, $50-$65 sounds right.

Bad idea, they could give you a crappy price, best just to demand ~$50
RE: how much moneys? by Lou on 04-08-2007 at 06:53 PM

It depends, have you simply made the design, simply the coding, both? You should be a tad more specific ;)

or risk it and see if they offer a 100 bucks, you never know.
RE: how much moneys? by absorbation on 04-08-2007 at 08:14 PM

You should of spoke to them about this before you made the design. Depends who they are, their age, and what they use the site for. I mean I wouldn't ask a teenager for $50 :P.

Depends if they have money to waste

RE: how much moneys? by ayjay on 04-08-2007 at 08:29 PM

You should pay them, it uses Times New Roman :P

However, change the font, and although I don't like the design personally, feel free to charge less than $100 if you want to look an idiot :P

RE: how much moneys? by saralk on 04-08-2007 at 08:31 PM

As a reference, I charged £50 ($98) for this site

meh, you should have charged much more :P
RE: how much moneys? by Patchou on 04-08-2007 at 09:11 PM

Are all of you guys from France or something?

Do not ask for $50. Anything below $250, for any site, regarless of quality, is not a good idea. Designing web sites is a serious job, it's not like making burgers at Wendy's. If the company for whom you did this work is not capable to pay at least $250 for the work (for quick math, just multiply the number of hours you spent on this by like $10 and I doubt you'll come up to $50), they can try to find somebody else to do it for them.

Or pay them in Nintendo Wii's. But don't insult them and give them a PS3 (a).

I'll like to see you saying that in a year or so :p

Bingo.

You should be charging at least $40 an hour (just basic design - programming I charge anywhere from $60 to $80 per hour)
RE: how much moneys? by Felu on 04-09-2007 at 09:50 AM

I would take $75-$200. If it is just a template $75. If it includes the domain $120 and if it includes a custom coded cms too, I'll charge $200 :).

Its a nice site, you can just put like an offer of 500, and then someone will offer you a bit less like 100.

and anyway, if you're doing it like "put like an offer of 500, and then someone will offer you a bit less like 100", the only people who are ever gonna do business with you will be little kids, so don't expect them to pay more than $60
RE: how much moneys? by NanaFreak on 04-09-2007 at 01:36 PM

how do the people put their information on?

because if its a panel the i would say $100

if not then i would go about $50

=\

You'll never get an adult web designer (at least, not one worth using) who will set a random price that you can decide to divide by 5. If you want to be taken seriously as a designer, you should be setting a price which you stick to, and definitely not a price of anywhere near $100.
RE: how much moneys? by albert on 04-10-2007 at 05:54 PM

Go for 200.

I usually charge 250-300, people find that very low.
