at the top right of the contact list, there's a button with 2 arrows. click that, and make sure "Show Contacts' Details' is checked off

But if you used mess patch, you don't even need to do that ;)

No you need to download, extract, exit messenger, go through pages of options checking the options that you want to apply, apply, restart messenger

restore the old backup, same as you do with skinning messenger.

Only difference is mine is tidier to look at and has a lot more contacts to look at, at any given time...means less scrolling. And with skinning, it's the only way to do it, change the files around that is...unless a proper installation file is made. Just look at my attachment to see how it looks.
