Yes thats true, they are planning to buy Yahoo for $50 billion :shocked:. They still won't be able to beat Google imo.

This news is way over rated. They are just looking into it, I doubt it will actually happen. Yahoo! has a bright future ahead and doesn't need to sell out :P.

When Google gets too big, we won't like it. It happens to all companies, they tend to get huge and we can't keep up with their new and cool products. We seem to love keeping stuff simple at the moment, and Google is just that, it does just what you want :P.

We all love underdogs :grin:

I think google knows that we want simple things, therefore I am not afraid of it growing big..

I believe Google is the future of the internet, I think it will easily beat Microsoft in every aspect.. The only thing they need is time for popularity.. Which is the only thing M.S. has over google.

I can't honestly recall anything that Microsoft has done, which Google tried to compete against, and hasn't given a better product.

MS will buy out Yahoo! the Bill Gates Way!

  1. Gates and a couple of the thugs will go to the head of Yahoo and say I want to buy you out.
  2. If the Yahoo! head accepts the next step will getting the thugs to trash the place.
  3. Then the Yahoo! head will say why and Bill Gates will reply "You think I got rich by writing cheques"

Doesnt really matter to me except for the fact that I dont know what is going to happen to the Rogers Yahoo! stuff.

I never liked Yahoo!. Maybe it's too colourful and too bloated with text and images...

in my opinion, ms should buy everything in yahoo except for yahoo mail and yahoo messenger (for vista).

I think MS can buy yahoo out but that doesn't change the facts. Facts are that MS might be a leader in OS and other quite a few other software based fields at the moment but Google still outperforms them in the web and its not even a close battle. The web is the only place where Google leads Microsoft and it hurts them big time because the web is a huge source of income. Google has way better data centres anyway :P

Imo Google will still rule the web while MS tries to catch up. On the other hand, Google has no plans to go into the OS and other fields that MS has pretty much covered up with its dominance so MS is ahead there. I love google but I wouldn't mind at all working at MS :D In fact I'd love it :D
