Feature Idea - Event Notification (Microsoft Speech) by XM4ST3RX on 05-05-2007 at 05:54 PM
Hi,
I believe alot of people use the event notification feature to notify users when certain users sign online etc.
There is an option to select a sound file, in which a user could record a sample (e.g. "Scoopy is online!")... but this would take quite some time if you had alot of users you would like a similar voice notification for.
My idea is to implement Microsoft Speech, so that you could simply type in a string of text and Microsoft Sam (for example) would say the text when the event is triggered. This could lead to new possibilities for scripts too, to make it automated.
I hope you like the idea, please vote on the poll too.
Kind Regards,

Hi,
Seems like a nice script, thanks for pointing it out.
I just think the script is quite limited and pronouncing email addresses or nicknames don't always sound recognisable sometimes. If there was a list so you could add/remove specific users and more options for individual users, this would be a great script.
