Little Suggestion by UnknownUser on 05-06-2007 at 09:49 PM
Hey.
I didn't know where to put this so I decided to put it here.
I thought it'd be good (if it was possible) to have 2 note boxes in the empty space of each contact window between the 2 DPs. In one box you could type in messages that are specific to that contact (only you can see them) so that you can remember to ask them something. In the other, anything you type in will be visible in all contact windows (still only to yourself) so that you can put something in that you have to say to everyone or something similar.
Sorry about my paragraphing, I'm tired atm lol.
Thank you for reading, it'd be great if there was some way to put this into the messenger.
Thanks.
Unknown

Something similar is planned for Stuffplug 3 in the future. It will probably never be included in Plus!, simply because there is already a contact note feature included in WLM.

This can be made as a script too...

guests can't view those forums (unless this (stupid) restriction has been removed by now.. EDIT:nope). So you might wanna explain what it is

That'd be pretty messy

Oh, didn't know about that. Basically it's a thread suggesting something similar to what UnknownUser is suggesting, and it's currently in the "To Be Implemented" section of the forum

It wouldn't be messy at all. You can use the Plus! menu and commands. And a window can perfectly be shown specific to the contact, just like the event viewer is shown.
Not everything must be pinned down on top of the convo in a crappy polling using way to be usefull...

Well, I was assuming it would be on the convo window, because the request seemed to imply that it was actually part of the window, not just a contact-specific window If it wasn't done this way it would work fine..

I also thought UnknownUser meant it to actually be a part of the window. - But it don't like the idea anyway. I mean, it depends on what size conversation window you have, but for me, there'd be practically no space for a box, let a lone 2
If it were to be a separate window, then it'd probably be good, though I'm still not sure I'd have any use for it

Hi,
I quite like this idea!
I do think the hooked version would make the contact windows a little "too busy".
I guess it could be triggered from a hotkey maybe? So when you open a contact window and press e.g. F9, then a similar window to the CTRL+Arrow Up (Previous Messages) window would be displayed. That way it wouldnt be hooked and would only be displayed on users request (could be configured i guess to suit a variety of peoples preferences).
And maybe you could even go as far as adding another event in the event notification, so that a users notes are automatically displayed when their window is opened etc.
Limitless possibilities
Kind Regards,
