No, there's still a limit, but it's only enforced on the server side, not with Javascript.

I thought this would be the main problem with the feature, getting the javascript to work around it. The Javascript code has always been dodgy for signature length. I think PHP should be used to display how many characters you have remaining (of course the real time effect will be gone) .
