I think its pretty unfair that Windows 2000/9x users that have to use MSN Messenger (therefore use Messenger Plus!) can't praticipate in the contest. Alot of 2000/9x users are still out there; I don't think a small update would kill you Patchou RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by Voldemort on 05-29-2007 at 10:33 PM

quote: It doesn't, he just gets the prises for free because it promotes installs of the program . RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by Menthix on 05-29-2007 at 10:52 PM Messenger Plus! 3.xx series were discontinued after releasing Messenger Plus! Live 4.00. There will be no more updates on the 3.xx series, i don't see why the contest should be an exception. And even if Patchou would put out a special 3.xx update just to make the contest work, people will then be mad because he only paid attention to the contest and didn't add some of the improvements in 4.xx in 3.xx too . I understand riahc4's point, don't get me wrong, but having Messenger Plus! Live is simply a requirement. RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by riahc4 on 05-30-2007 at 02:04 AM
quote: I understand it too seeing as it promotes his NEW software with OPTIONAL adware but...It would be a nice touch. quote:Well those people are then idiots (IMO). A "silent" update would be nice; By silent I mean, no frontpage news, the build number/release date doesn't increase/update, etc. This way no questions are asked and eveyone gets the contest. RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by joey on 05-30-2007 at 02:12 AM and yet no-one feels sorry for the linux users... quote:Get a virtual machine, install Windows, and install Messenger/Plus!. Thats not that big of a deal. RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by joey on 05-30-2007 at 02:27 AM do you know how much energy id have to waste doing that?! and bear in mind, im lazy and knowing my luck it'd go wrong. quote: why would it if he could automagically create money out of nowhere why only do it when people click on his thing RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by Patchou on 05-30-2007 at 04:04 AM
No, I'm not making any dollar directly from the contest pages, actually I'm losing money everytime somebody clicks on the grid (bandwidth... ). RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by joey on 05-30-2007 at 09:19 AM what about making something similar to addon to aMSN, or pidgin for example. i reckon there'd be plenty of poeple willing to help. even if it IS in C or whatever =p RE: Contest unfair to Messenger Plus!/Windows 2000 users by Volv on 05-30-2007 at 09:40 AM
quote:Because aMSN and Pidgin are open source and you don't need a plugin for it - anyone can make their own modifications or somene else can do it. Because MsgPlus is a one-man project and he can't be expected to be coding multiple plugins for multiple platforms for multiple messengers. Because we all know no one would download MsgPlus for aMSN or Pidgin. Because there's no reason to. |
