Yea...my dodgy XP desktop

So after I click any of those (or standby etc.), nothing happens. I leave overnight, and yet nothing happens.

start killing every svchost.exe one by one until it says it will reboot in a minute

or try to type "shutdown -s -t 0" in Start->Run

It got stuck...after everything is turned off...it doesnt log off...
