Have you tired a different version?  If what you're trying is the latest, try going a version or two down, and see if that works.

Winamp seems to have problems switching between different formats, and that used to give me this dialog all the time [midi -> wma did this here]. Have you tried opening mp3 files? What does the error report contain?

You can try performing a clean install (Full Uninstall -> Reinstall procedure) of Winamp 5.05 and see if the problem crops up again. If it doesn't, then you're good to go. But it may, since I feel that the problem lies within ntdll.dll and not specifically with Winamp. If the dll file is corrupted, it appears that a replacement can be downloaded from this source. BUT, if you wind up doing that, you'd better rename your existing copy of ntdll.dll to perhaps something like ntdll.dll.old, and leave it sitting in your Windows system folder before replacing it. That way, if there are any conflicts with your system, you can always rename the old one back again. But try the clean install (Full Uninstall -> Reinstall procedure) first. It may solve you problem.

The FINAL solution I got was far more simpler than you guys posted.

I just deleted the recent.dat file in the folder

C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\ml

Hope it helps for you!
