is there any way to get the features of itunes+ (album art on msn) without having to use msg plus? are there any plugins that would do this? i stumbled across iTunes2msn by r9paul but i can't get it to work...

Apart from the programs you mentioned, there is no alternatives that I am aware of. It appears you will have to use Messenger Plus! Live to enjoy this feature
