Quick Text - The start of the text by JC Denton on 07-08-2007 at 11:48 PM

i've seen texts in style of "/me bla bla bla (!N) bla bla bla..." in other words with a command as the first part of the quick text. is it possible to put an ordinary word at the beginning without being a command (like "Bored because of (!N)"?

What do you mean "how"?

Just enter the text you want. The text you can enter in the edit box is the exact same text you can enter in a conversation window. This includes commands like /me, but this also included normal texts...

if i do that it doesnt work (i.e. JC Denton says: blabla...)

examples:

command: /qt_50cal
message contents: /me takes a .50 cal Desert Eagle and blows (!N)'s head off!
result (OK): <***> JC Denton <***> - BlackRaptor takes a .50 cal Desert Eagle and blows Andrej's head off!

command: /qt_medic
message contents: Medic!!! Get over here!!!
result (NOT OK): <***> JC Denton <***> - BlackRaptor says (3:51): Medic!!! Get over here!!!

the 2nd example is as if i typed the sentence manually.

That's exactly how it is meant to work and that is the primary function of quick texts: Allowing you to say longer messages using short commands/abbreviations...

I suppose it would be useful for faking error messages and such :p But as it doesn't really serve a useful purpose MsgPlus doesn't allow you to do this. Who knows, it may be added in future but I wouldn't bet on it :)

faking error messages...hmmm...nice idea! :D nah i wasn't actually trying to use it for that...

Your first example was using the /me command, that is why the "says:" was missing.  If you want it to display like that than just put "/me " (without quotes) at the beginning of your quick-text.  That is the only possible solution at this point in time I am afraid to say, it doesn't make all of the beginning disappear though.

If you just type "/" (without quotes) in a conversation and wait a couple of seconds a list of commands comes up (hover over them for description).
The (!N) type tags can be found in conversation windows by going to the Plus menu (where File, Edit, etc. appear at the top, not the icon) > 'Insert Special Tag'.
