BitComet "Yellow Light" Message by LoochTheMan on 07-12-2007 at 02:37 AM

I keep getting a "Yellow Light" in my BitComet saying my listen port is unreachable to public domain peers, please check your Firewall and NAT Router configurations. I have my firewall turned off, but I don't know what the NAT Router configurations are. If I change them (and I would need help as to how), would it speed up the rate of my downloads?

Thanks for any help, appreciate it.

Check on the options what port is being used. After access you router and in "Port forwarding" or something similar add that port number.

Where do I go to get access to my port/router options.

Usually by the IP 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0
Type that number on IE
It might ask for a user/password
try admin/password or router/admin

Check the manualls for more info.

IIRC (which I probably don't), open up your browser and type in your router's IP, usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or something else.
I don't know if that's the right way to do it, but meh.

EDIT: beat me to it :P

Check this out: PortForward.com

don't use bitcomet/bitlord. it causes too many problems to count. i *highly* recommend utorrent (however this still won't fix your problem -- check out portforward.com)

Yeah..I also recommend µTorrent.

I agree, it is said that BitComet has many and various problems, though I haven't tried it. It's most commonly pronounced as "BitVomit" (though. . . I find that to be a bad thing)
I use µTorret as well and it's really good.

you can use some ip checking site to find out your IP, like say,
IPchicken.com :)
