RE: Code editor by Spunky on 07-14-2007 at 06:17 PM I tried using Notepad2 for a while... It's just seems easier with the code window. I did start making my own code window for a while as well, with common snippets built in, but it was too complicated to get the text box to behave right. I'm using PHP Designer 2007 for all my coding stuff. PHP, HTML, CSS, XML, JScript,... it can highlight everything and looks damn nice! RE: Code editor by joey on 07-14-2007 at 06:51 PM
Eidt: i dont usually code either, just for editing little things like html/css files usually =p quote: RE: Code editor by Mnjul on 07-14-2007 at 07:06 PM I use Notepad++. But its built-in style might be a little bit uncomfortable (especially font sizes/faces differ across comments/keywords/... etc under the same language) RE: RE: Code editor by stu on 07-14-2007 at 07:08 PM
quote: I also use PHP Designer, but the 2005 edition. Ive had this for a while and never bothered to update, but its a great program, useful for lots of different languages. Other then that, I just use the built in editor, and just simply notepad occasionally lol RE: Code editor by MeEtc on 07-14-2007 at 07:25 PM
quote:Thanks, I 'acquired' this, and it looks great. Not quite Dreamweaver, but looks pretty useful. RE: Code editor by Spunky on 07-15-2007 at 01:38 AM
quote: I feel Dreamweaver is too "bloated" and "bulky" for anything that you intend to do with it, unless you are actually maintaining a website quote: I might be stupid here, but doesn't WLM only run under Windows XP or above. I know you can use WINE, but I didn't think it'd work with WLM *shrug* RE: Code editor by NanaFreak on 07-15-2007 at 01:40 AM

quote:yeah it doesnt....i tried dont know why it'd be pointless anyway =p im waiting for the day they get IE under WINE, people are always trying to do it without taking bits of the program out, but its not been done yet. RE: Code editor by Nathan on 07-15-2007 at 09:26 AM
quote:x2, though you can change the font sizes/types etc and its very customizable and i love it It's really good RE: Code editor by Deco on 07-16-2007 at 05:25 PM
I like Sepy RE: Code editor by LifelesS on 07-17-2007 at 09:49 PM I'm using XMLSpy for the XML's and the default Plus! editor for the js's... But I'm going to try phpDesigner. RE: Code editor by Stigmata on 07-17-2007 at 10:15 PM
Notepad++ RE: Code editor by Ezra on 07-17-2007 at 10:19 PM
quote: Me too, before that I also used DreamWeaver, but it's indeed a little too bloated and not as good for other languages besides, css, html and javascript. Notepad++ could also get some more features, but one that has been put in not so long ago is the function list which is very handy, so I just keep my eyes on the updates.
