I have my chat logs encrypted but when I try to open them it says something about An error occurred while trying to decrypt your file. Please reboot or try again on another computer.

try updating windows using windows update, ensuring all updates are selected, and see if it helps.

I'm sure that won't help any because I got my last updates Thursday at 5 pm PCT. But this has been happening before that.

No, I just kinda forgot about it. I decided I didn't need a password, and then hid the folder they're in. I just tried encrypting them but it said the key could not be generated. So I might just reinstall msg plus, and delete my logs & start fresh.

I also have this exact same problem. It is with all my logs that are password-protected (which is basically all of them). I enter my password and then get the error message. Why is this? I'm sure my password isn't wrong or anything.

I have no idea how it happens, or what is wrong. It could be a software problem from installing something else, a bug, or a unknown virus..

you know I have a feeling it might be when too much stuff gets saved/ encrypted...coz thats what happened with me..my files were huuge. think maybe just moving them outta the 'my chat logs' folder to somewhere else every now and then might help so new files get formed instead.

Well that's not my problem. I have deleted all my files in the folder about two months ago and it didn't solve anything.

I have the same problem and windows update didn't solve anything.
This is the only way to "solve" this problem? There's no other way to open my logs correctly?
