For a while I would get a message when I logged into MSN Messenger saying that if I wanted to update, I must log in as a local administrator. Now I can't even log in at all, because I get the message: RE: Local Administrator? by Sunshine on 09-20-2007 at 02:41 PM You need to log in to the account with admin priviledges and upgrade there. The Windows account you are on does not have permission to install software. It would help if you told us wich Windows version you are using (XP, Vista). RE: Local Administrator? by Volv on 09-20-2007 at 02:44 PM You need to log on to Windows with the administrator's account in order to upgrade Messenger. RE: Local Administrator? by karkarlouise on 09-21-2007 at 01:04 AM I've got Vista. I logged on as the only account on my laptop. I've never had my own computer before, and I'm totally oblivious to how they work. RE: Local Administrator? by ShawnZ on 09-21-2007 at 05:14 AM right click the MSN Messenger icon, and hit "run as administrator". RE: Local Administrator? by Wally on 09-21-2007 at 09:13 AM
Reveal administrator account RE: Local Administrator? by karkarlouise on 09-21-2007 at 09:15 PM
I clicked on the link and typed in what it said, and it just gave me some more text: quote: That might work, if that option were to pop up when I right-click the icon. Unfortunately, it doesn't, and I remain IM-less. RE: Local Administrator? by roflmao456 on 09-27-2007 at 02:04 AM
