Yeah, that could quite possibly be related to a dodgy merge I just performed. 
Issue seems to have been resolved. WDZ, see the shoutbox for details

The blank subject is a very old bug, caused by the "last post" information not being updated properly, but I think I finally fixed it last week. 
I just haven't uploaded the new code yet.
