hi there im new to the forums. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by ShawnZ on 12-16-2007 at 06:28 PM why not just actually use glass instead of a transparent PNG RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Nurgle on 12-16-2007 at 06:33 PM
in what way do you mean just glass? RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by ShawnZ on 12-16-2007 at 06:36 PM
quote: IE and WMP don't get glass by just setting their backgrounds to semi-transparent PNGs... RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Nurgle on 12-16-2007 at 06:42 PM
They relily on their own recorces in their own folder?. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by aNILEator on 12-16-2007 at 06:49 PM
Ignore shawnz he somehow thinks that we can re-code messenger completely with the skinning interface. He fails to admit he's wrong and fails to show a working example proving why we're wrong. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Nurgle on 12-16-2007 at 06:55 PM ty Anileator =] <3. and Shawnz. quote: they don't use any pictures at all, they use the glass APIs quote: i have no working example, but i have an almost working example: if you look closely, the background is visible through the window. it's not perfect, but i'm working on it. I Knew that. just didn't know it was called api. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by ShawnZ on 12-16-2007 at 07:15 PM

lol if you are trying to force glass on WLM shawnz then good luck. TheSteve tried this months ago and found that there is no way of getting somewhere. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by freak544 on 12-17-2007 at 01:36 AM
So it would be possible if Microsoft put it in RE: RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Willz on 12-17-2007 at 01:41 AM
quote: MS will no doubt put glass in one day, but on terms of being able to control it.......well thats anyones guess. Again we have to wait until MS implements glass in Windows Live Messenger then we can talk about it. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by nunoperalta on 12-17-2007 at 01:54 AM I remember that windows live mail (desktop, beta) was a bit of transparency on toolbar... is this nothing about the UIFiles code? RE: RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Willz on 12-17-2007 at 02:03 AM
quote: No I tried that too. Whether or not WLMD uses Aero is written into the WLMD program itself. Because WLM does not have this yet thats why its not possible. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Keikonium on 12-17-2007 at 03:05 AM
Crazy thought but... RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by ShawnZ on 12-17-2007 at 03:07 AM
quote: that's what we're doing. see the two screenshots above. RE: RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Keikonium on 12-17-2007 at 03:11 AM
quote: Oh, didn't know you guys made something to enable real glass in WLM. Oh well, it'd be cool, but I guess not possible. RE: [Help] Can WLM 8.5 use Full Transparnt Windows? by Willz on 12-17-2007 at 03:13 AM Well there seemed to be no real way of controlling it so we saw there was no point to continue, plus since we saw Windows Live Mail Desktop implement we figured MS wouldn't be too far away from doing it themselves. |
