Hi, RE: GMAIL exporting? by saralk on 12-20-2007 at 03:52 PM
You can check e-mail in gmail via POP3. RE: GMAIL exporting? by YourNeibour on 12-20-2007 at 04:41 PM but i don't want to export to outlook. I want to export it to another gmail account though RE: GMAIL exporting? by Volv on 12-20-2007 at 04:43 PM When you say "e-mails" you're referring to the actual emails and not your contact list, right? RE: GMAIL exporting? by YourNeibour on 12-20-2007 at 04:49 PM yes my actual e-mails RE: RE: GMAIL exporting? by ZrednaZ on 12-20-2007 at 05:36 PM
quote:saralk is suggesting that you let one Gmail account offer the e-mails via POP and let the other Gmail account download them. Doesn't involve Outlook. RE: GMAIL exporting? by YourNeibour on 12-21-2007 at 02:16 AM Oh ok...so just export it as a pop3 account and then just import it? RE: GMAIL exporting? by CookieRevised on 12-21-2007 at 03:13 AM
quote:not realy. Importing/Exporting involves creating a file or files (like exporting/importing the Plus! preferences). This isn't so with this method. What you need to do is as saralk suggested: 1) set your "old" account to enable POP3 for all emails Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > POP Download: enable POP for all mail and Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > When messages are accessed with POP: delete GMail's copy (to remove the mails from your old account once they are retrieved) 2) set your "new" account to be able to retrieve other POP3 accounts (this can be any POP3, but for this purpose it is just another GMail account). So fill in the account data of your "old" account in one of the POP3 retrieval settings of your "new" account. Settings > Accounts > Get mail from other accounts: add another mail account > fill in all the appropiate fields -correctly- 3) In your "new" account retrieve all email (thus including those other POP3 accounts). This will retrieve the emails from your "old" account and put them in your "new" account as if they are new emails. 4) Go back to your old account and set the forwarding to your new account in case you still want to recieve mail which is send to your old account.
