Hi,

I have this error code 800701f6 whenever I try to sign in to MSN Messenger Live since this morning.

I am using version 8.1. I have tried to rectify the problem as follows:

(1) go to "Run", type in "regsvr32 softpub.dll", "regsvr32 Missip32.dll" and "regsvr32 Initpki.dll" and restart my computer again.

(2) Check that MSN is allowed under the firewall list.

After performing the above, I still can't log in to MSN. What else could be done?  Pls help.

I have a suggestion.. how about trying this:

1. Go to your Control Panel
2. Click on Add or Remove Programs
3. Select Windows Live Messenger
4. Click on Change
5. Then click on Repair

Can you signin with other Windows Live IDs? (if yes, then your ID is problematic)

Can you signin on another computer with your ID? (if yes, then your computer is problematic)

I can't sign in with other Windows Live ID or sign in from another computer as well.

I've tried to delete & reinstall WLM. Now, I can't reinstall the program. The error message is Connectivity problems. I have followed the instructions there to check the following:

(1) Connection to Internet
(2) Internet connection settings
(3) Proxy settings

But I'm still having problem downloading WLM. What now?
