Ok i need a new laptop the only place i looked is ebuyer. What can you guys find? RE: Need help buying a laptop by Shippo on 01-03-2008 at 09:46 PM
Hmm... for $800, you can get a fairly good laptop. And your getting Vista regardless. (but I highly advise you to find a way to get XP, Vista is just too damn slow on my own laptop) - 1 GB RAM, 140 GB HDD (it's 160, but a good chunk is used for recovery and Vista itself) RE: Need help buying a laptop by ayjay on 01-03-2008 at 09:51 PM
There are plenty if you look through other places, like http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/654/861/3-/RegionHome.html RE: Need help buying a laptop by Quantum on 01-03-2008 at 10:01 PM Is there a way of narrowing my results? Play.com just gives me a huge list. RE: Need help buying a laptop by Nathan on 01-03-2008 at 10:03 PM Search for higher and higher specs with the lowest price, best way to do that RE: Need help buying a laptop by Quantum on 01-03-2008 at 10:08 PM play.com wont let me do that? RE: Need help buying a laptop by Nathan on 01-03-2008 at 10:10 PM Advanced search... RE: Need help buying a laptop by Quantum on 01-03-2008 at 10:17 PM There is no advanced search. You could have looked through them all by now RE: Need help buying a laptop by djdannyp on 01-03-2008 at 11:32 PM
you can use dabs.com to narrow down options to find exactly what you want RE: Need help buying a laptop by Quantum on 01-04-2008 at 01:04 AM

Sorry for a double post but it was ages after that post. RE: Need help buying a laptop by Shippo on 01-09-2008 at 11:15 PM I honestly can't say on their laptops, but I do know Acer desktops SUCK. (school I went to used them and they were just horrible...) RE: Need help buying a laptop by albert on 01-09-2008 at 11:34 PM
quote: Wouldn't suggest Acer at all, although cheap, EVERYONE I know who's gotten one (a mimimum of 7 or 8 persons I can recall instantly) have gotten not only major peripheral issues, but bad tech support to get it fixed. RE: RE: Need help buying a laptop by djdannyp on 01-10-2008 at 12:12 AM
quote: I can back this up. Same goes for Dell. I do IT Support for my hall at University and Acers and Dells are the most common ones i get called out for I've had my Fujitsu-Siemens for 2 years with no problems, and before that I had a Compaq Presario which is still running very successfully and it's currently half way through its 5th year of usage. |
