No, the Custom Contact Name feature will not be included in the next release.
However, as Patchou has said it will be included in some future version, some day, if it is still technically possible. That is all what is known.

Hey loZ, I assume you're one of the few of us who rely on this feature pretty badly, huh? Yeah, I second this request. Patchou, would you please help us out? I've been dying to use Live since Day 1 here one and a half years ago
