Hi all, nearly tearing my hair out here
...when i try to chat on msn messenger i come up on another persons list as mobile?...have no idea how i made myself mobile but it prevents me from receiving messages offline, emoticons etc, have searched the forum for help but to no avail...can anybody on here help?

Tools > Options > Phone > Uncheck 'Allow people on my contacts list to send messages to my mobile device'
Try that.

hmmmm maybe reinstall messenger would help?
