The Keyboard on my laptop is broken, but I have a USB one (which im using now) is there a way I can uninstall the built in one because its keeps typing things. RE: Uninstall Built In Keyboard. by MeEtc on 04-05-2008 at 05:35 PM If you can find the keyboard in device manager, simply set it to disabled instead of uninstalling it. Hopefully that will do what you want it to do. RE: Uninstall Built In Keyboard. by Chunk1993 on 04-05-2008 at 05:38 PM Thanks for a quick response, but theres no option to disable. Hmm, you're right. I only have one keyboard plugged in though, I'll try seeing if a second one enables the option to disable. RE: Uninstall Built In Keyboard. by Chunk1993 on 04-05-2008 at 05:56 PM Is there no other program I could use to disable it? Or stop it from reinstalling on reboot? RE: Uninstall Built In Keyboard. by Menthix on 04-05-2008 at 05:56 PM Open the laptop, unplug the keyboard. Most of the time they're connected with a flat cable. RE: Uninstall Built In Keyboard. by Chunk1993 on 04-05-2008 at 05:57 PM I haven't got the right sized screw driver.. And I wouldnt know what to unplug. I don't think there is a way to disable an individual keyboard device in Windows. There may be an option in the laptop's BIOS to disable the build-in device, though in almost all modern laptops this is a long shot. |
