While viewing "Contacts who have me" in Contact List Clean-Up window, all the contacts who I don't have in my list appear only with their email addresses. For those contacts, the contact name part displays their e-mail addresses like what E-mail part displays, so it is currently useless because Messenger forgets the names of contacts who we don't have in our list. However, I most of the time concentrate on names, not addresses, and it is currently difficult for me to recognize who an email address belongs to while checking who have me but I don't have. RE: Contact Name part for Contact List Clean-Up window's second mode by markee on 05-03-2008 at 08:50 AM This is just how messenger stores the information. If you have a look at the list in tools > options > privacy > Contact list > "view". Patchou normally sources information from messenger when it is requested rather than storing it so such a feature as you are requesting is not possible I'm sorry. If you want to take it up with someone then try the messenger team. RE: Contact Name part for Contact List Clean-Up window's second mode by ahmetgns on 05-03-2008 at 09:30 AM
quote:That is why I said "... Messenger forgets..." but I am 99.9 % sure that saving display names in registry, like saving Last Online, Last Chat information, is possible and would be very useful if implemented.
