Anyone got any idea how I can download a video which is in one of these annoying video players, like this?

Comedy.com isn't supported by any of the firefox extensions. Can't think of anything else, other then screen video recording. I'm trying different recorders at the moment but not getting very far. Edit: They're all just recording a black screen, had to mess around with the codecs, etc. :sad:

DownloadHelper is probably the best in my opinion.

I haven't tried the rest of the suggestions, though, but anyway, see how you go ;)

TubeHunter :). Defintly the best and most reliable one ive used thus far.

Never, EVER suggest RealPlayer to anyone! It is by far the worst of all the media players. More annoying than Windows media Player, more resource hungry than QuickTime, and harder to get rid of than Norton AntiVirus.

Note: I hate RealPlayer.

Edit: Actually, this may be relevant to me. I do use Firefox after all :D

Bit dodgy. Downloaded lots of different files and couldn't find the one I wanted.

Hmm, maybe not. When you click the DownloadHelper drop-down button it shows you can download a couple different .flv files, which are parts of the video, but only about 10secs long each, so I can't get the full video :(

real player works perfect for me doesn't seem resource hungry but i have never wanted to uninstalll it,
though once upon a time i agree it was rubbish

Might just be that it hasn't loaded fully yet? Trying it now...

EDIT: I'm getting a 217-byte flv, which obviously isn't right, but there is only one option in the dropdown list for me...odd.

Yeah same happens here. If you wait longer you get about 3 .flv files. :(

real player works so open real player then click file new browsing wondow or something like that.
then it acts like internet explorer, just navigate to the page you want then a little box pops up and says download this video

Real Player's video downloader sucks. It makes WLM crash for some weird reason.
